Ahmad Mugabe,Kasim Mendela

assalamualaikum

in the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

Not 1 week ago, there was 1 cute Malay baby boy who turned at A&E for a medical problem. His name was Ian(bukan nama sebenar).

Never in my life have I seen a Malaysian with names like Mugabe, Drogba, Sissoko and Mendela. What makes us similar to the Africans?

Malaysia, together with many other countries, are less fortunate compared to the Westerners. To us, whatever they do, they look cool.

We want to emulate them. We have the intention to do it.

Many of us look down at ourselves. We are still 2000km behind the US and UK in many disciplines. It's hard to compete after their divide and rule succeeded. They excelled too in the Iraq war, when the biggest library in Iraq was made one of main early targets.

It seems like the US to us are a still great race. We can't compete in the fields needed, so we tend to copy them in many other ways that we can think of. Mainly in the irrelevant ways, I suppose.

One example, English names appear illogically cool. Smoking appeals to the even educated ones, let alone the less educated ones.

Nobody is adapting to the cultures of African countries. Nobody dances around the fire, nobody names their son Khalid Mendela. Or Siti Arroyo. Or Faizal Chavez.

These are the fields that African Americans do well.

So are we, right? Sometimes I name myself Aquilani, Torres, Ballack. I never tried Kiatisuk Samoang, Noh Alam Shah, Bambang Pamungkas or Khalid Jamlus.

We need to pick ourselves up. Once Melaka, under the rule of Malays ruled the world. Madinah conquered 1/3rd of the world. The impact can still be seen. Christian Arabs name their kids Ibrahim and Yusof.

Sigh. Perangai bangsa yang kurang maju............

till next time,
assalamualaikum

Quote of the Day -

“MCA, which is Umno’s right crutch, is in chaos. So is MIC, who is Umno’s left crutch. So they have nothing to do but make accusations against me.

“They are like a grandfather with a crying grandchild. To stop the child from crying, they will say ‘Bird! Bird! Bird! Nik Aziz! Nik Aziz! Nik Aziz!’ They think we are stupid like them,” Nik Aziz said.

Bravo Nik Aziz.
