This is my first time blogging with Samsung Galaxy Tab. To be honest, it has been a great experience. The interface is smooth, very fluid and the colours are fantastic.

I thank first and foremost to Allah for granting me 28 years of life so far. I turned 28 last week, and to have been given this present was really unprecedented. Special thanks to Aisyah Amalia.

Time moves so fast that in less than 6 weeks, the most waited event of the year will take place. Preparation-wise, there are heaps that yet to be solved. Being far away from family, who has been helpful, doesn't help the course at all.

I think I will stop writing as for now.

I'm pretty confident many have heard of Sir Elton John's first ever( and likely his last) in Malaysia. His ads can be seen in many daily newspapers.

That is normal. What is abnormal is Pas Youth seems to be making headlines as well. The way they work is the moment an event is announced, they will be among the first to protest. They seem to excel very well here. Excel in protesting, of course.

Many are disappointed with the current leadership of current Pas youth. Some may disagree, but that's alright.

I don't mean to intervene in their work, but in my opinion, the focus should be turned on to improving the Muslims. Protesting here and there does not make Islam more attractive. What they need to do is to constantly provide alternative entertainment to the youth. Make them attracted to you.

Let the non Muslims do whatever they want. They are entitled to it. We must now focus on strengthening the faith of Muslims. Come whatever may, our resilient will be as strong as ever.

PAS Youth really needs to improve.

It is 1 am to be precise. I finished my locum at 12 midnight, and got into talking with friends in ward for some time before finally reaching home.

So what is new in life?

I reckon I still have issues to this so called group 'Himpun'. In my opinion, they have been misled in their objectives. I won't go into details in this entry, because you know, it's 1 am.

To those who are expecting my presence in the next Raya Haji, it is sad to announce that I won't be making my way back home. I really can't. The weekend after I have a course to attend in Universiti Malaya, which coincides with my birthday too, so I had to decide what is best for all.

Of late, I have had difficulty in falling asleep. It runs in the family, unfortunately. It really stresses the hell out of you everytime you wake up feeling tired. It is a test from Allah to test if patience is really one of your virtues. Do I own one? Yes, you, tell me.

Apart from those above, I have less than 8 weeks before I finally tie the know with the special one. Kind of my feelings really. You feel scared moving into another stage of life, but you can't deny the excitement too. My counterpart says she feels lucky not to be a man, because of the responsibilities and all.

Lol! Gibberish eh?

It is 12 midnight, and I can't seem to settle down on my bed. My brain is preoccupied with things that I have no answers to its respective questions.

In between 2 people with obvious differences in character and personality, how do you find compatibility between them? You handle things your way, and so does she. They may not suit your way, and vice versa.

Occasionally a fight erupts between these couples. A fight can be a simple and trivial one. It the big one that makes you lose your sleep. A lot of theories invented including one that asks you to keep it low until the mood of your counterpart cools down.

Really it is down to the differences that determine the way you handle a fight.

You may wonder why am I writing on this.

I don't have the answer.

My application for a transfer to my beloved hometown was approved last week. I was informed through a telephone call, and there is no black and white yet at the moment.

Should the letter be here by anytime soon, I will leave this place with mixed feeling. It has been a memorable 2 and a half years. Kulim was already known as Kulim Hi Tech way before I knew I would be transferred here. Back then Kulim was a far quieter place compared to now.

Everytime I am here I feel content with life. All the basic necessities are easy to find here. There is no traffic jam, and the spirit of neighbourhood is well felt. People can recognise me and at times, honestly I have to pretend that I know who they are. You hardly get people pretending you are not there, when you actually are.

But whenever I am back home, it is always home sweet home.

So I have had a few homes now.

I need to settle down I reckon.

Dengan nama Allah yang Maha Pemurah lagi Maha Mengasihani

Tujuan saya menulis adalah untuk menyuarakan pendapat mengenai 'HIMPUN'. Secara kasarnya, ia merupakan perhimpunan yang dianjurkan oleh pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGOs) dengan objektif-objektif tertentu.

Secara umumnya, penganjur dan penyokong adalah golongan orang yang berilmu.

Di samping menyedari ancaman pendakwah agama lain yang semakin jelas, satu hakikat yang kurang disedari sebenarnya masyarakat Melayu adalah jahil terhadap agama Islam itu sendiri. Mata pelajaran agama pun ramai yang tak lulus, dan bukanlah satu perkara yang mengejutkan bila kita mendengar belia berumur 25 tahun tidak tahu membaca al-Fatihah.

Saya tidak menentang pendekatan mubaligh agama lain, kerana itu memang tanggungjawab yang dipikul oleh mereka.

Jika saudara pernah mengikuti tulisan saya sebelum ini, saya juga antara orang yang tidak bersetuju dengan kempen boikot Israel.

Saya melihat perjuangan pada zaman dahulu, Rasulullah tidak membuat demonstrasi atau mengajak rakyat berkumpul untuk menyuarakan bantahan terhadap orang yang menentang Islam. Sebaliknya apa yang dilakukan ialah penerapan berterusan akidah orang Islam.

Apa yang harus ditekankan ialah suara bersepadu untuk mengukuhkan akidah umat Islam.

Jika kita berkeras hendak memprotes golongan Kristian sebagai contoh, bagaimana pula jika golongan bukan Muslim juga berkeras untuk membantah pengislaman kaum-kaum bukan Melayu. Jika kehendak kedua-dua pihak dituruti, maka kita akan menemui jalan buntu, di mana hanya Melayu akan menjadi Muslim dan golongan bukan Melayu terus dengan agama mereka.

Golongan-golongan agama juga agak konservatif, dan ramai pula yang senyap bila golongan-golongan berilmu dinafikan mengajar di Selangor dengan alasan tiada tauliah. Tujuan pengajian ialah untuk memantapkan kefahaman tentang Islam.

Tapi yang menariknya, apa yang ditumpukan ialah ilmuan agama lain dilarang untuk mendekati umat Islam.

Golongan pengajar Islam yang hendak mendekati orang Islam pula dilarang. Ironis, dan di manakah keutamaannya?

Beautiful Weekend

In less than 3 days, one of the most important weekends in the history of mankind will take place. It is a weekend that almost everybody really looks forward to.

First of all, I need to be at Malacca this Friday. Lots of matters need to be sorted out, for the important upcoming once-in-a-lifetime event soon.

Secondly, Liverpool to play Man United on Saturday. Fingers crossed but I still have hopes that the victory will belong to us. Judging by the current form, Man Utd are the clear favourites.

Thirdly, the celebration of 35th wedding anniversary of my parents'. I feel delighted for them. I envy them really. Modern society has resulted chaos to many couples, but to weather the storm like what they have achieved, it is not easy. Therefore, Mama and Papa, Happy 35th anniversary! May you be blessed by Allah always.

Following right after this, is the match between the All Blacks and Wallabies. If your hair never stood still after watching this video, I really don't know what to say.

We can plan, and I hope Allah will grant me the chance to enjoy this beautiful weekend.

So everyone has got their own say on the 2012 Budget presented yesterday in the Parliament. In any budget presented by any respective government of the day, there will be good and bad points.

So whatever that is deemed to be right, nobody should condemn it, just because they are on the opposite party. Vice versa, the ones on the same boat ought to not be a yes man, so that the boss will be pleased with his actions.

I have yet to analyse experts' reviews on this matter, and so many have you too.

So how do you tell whether this a good or a bad one?

One has to compliment the liberalisation of the government sectors. Pay rise, no new tax and this and that, we are thankful to God and the government.

What many find as troubling is the number of one-off packages. Scary. Do we actually have the means to implement this?

Do we always need to give the fish, rather them teaching how to fish?

If this RM500 is finished, are we back to square one, complaining that cost of living is very high? If there was to be another course of war in Iraq, will the people be denied the right to complain the rise is petrol price?

While I am thankful for the goodies, I cannot help but think that this is an Election Budget. My prediction is middle of next year, a couple of months after all of these goodies have been distributed.

Fingers crossed, but I think my prediction could be right.

In life as a Muslim, you'll be tested from time to time. Your resilience and its outcome are indicators of how strong is your faith towards Allah.

Allah tests His servants in a possible thousand and one ways.

One of them is happiness. Happiness on its own is a test. Many supplicate to Allah in the times when things are not going their way. We tell them to be patience. More often than not, we forget Allah when everything is in good terms.

We turn to Allah when the gift of happiness is taken back.

How ungrateful are we as a human being. When you become a boss to your employees, you want them to love you just like how much you love them. Have we done justice to ourselves now?

I'd love to write more, but I can't.

Occasionally this feeling of uneasiness comes uninvited. You will be restless for no reason, and you can't seem to be able to find the reason why.

Something is troubling me inside, and please, somebody tell me why.

As you get older, more responsibilities are placed upon your shoulders. These do not only come with great power, but also with heaps of sacrifices.

Whether you like it or not, you hardly are given any choices. So, take it as it is, and complain as much as you like, but please get on with life. Those days of leading a free life might not be yours to even think about it anymore.

Yes, I promised you pictures. I will InsyaAllah tomorrow. I hardly even have time for me at home, let alone for others.

Malaysian first

I don't know how to start this time. Usually I have a topic in mind, that I feel like voicing out. This time tonight, I have the urge to write. For the past 30 minutes, I have been thinking that I want to write tonight. The issue, well, none.

Of late, there has been no major events happening to me. I am still an avid follower of our national politics, I remain a big fan of Liverpool and I want to keep on improving as a Muslim and a Malay.

There is one movie that really caught my attention. Approaching 28 years of my life as a Malaysian, I haven't really felt that all Malaysians can identify themselves as a Malaysian first, and a Malay second. I have to admit that I am really really really impressed with Namewee's efforts in Nasi Lemak 2.0.

You can ask my friends, I am very close to my Chinese neighbours. I have lived under one roof with Chinese, Indians and Sabahan. I enjoy making friends with them. I can assure you that not many have had that experience, let alone having the will to try that.

So kudos to Namewee. Hats off to you my fellow Malaysian.

I hate racism. Let's kick racism out of our lives.

Trauma

I feel restless. I am now stuck in a clinic, locuming, of course.

Yet, I feel 'called' to write today.

I had a busy call last night. I have come to realize that I tend to lose patience easily when test comes forth to me. For the past 30 months, my calls have always been a relatively easy one. Relatively is the word.

I have always been the source of envy for many colleagues. I am speaking in terms of how busy will I get in every on call session. 3-4 hours of sleep is the minimum I will get in these nights. Comparatively, many of my colleagues will barely have 1 hour per night.

Of late, the trend has changed.

Patience is a virtue that if one succeeds to grab on hold to, invariably will lead you to a greater heights. I don't know if I am getting less patience lately, or I do actually have a low threshold.

Making things worse, I am not a good sleeper.

I feel slightly relieved. It is always good to vomit out your stressful thoughts isn't it?

Life as a doctor is a really an unpredictable one. It is worse especially if you are bonded to the government for a certain period of time. In my case, it is a 10 year contract. 8 1/2 more to go.

Say for example, my department is blessed with a good number of medical officers. I have only 5 on calls for the this month. Next month there will be a couple leaving the department, therefore we are all back to square one.

With regards to me, I have submitted my transfer request. I've requested Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. I am neither Torres nor Meireles who decided at the 11th hour to turn their back on their old club, who has given them so much.

lol! Jokes aside, it is attributed to the fact that it is my turn to take care of my parents. I have been away for far too long. Long story short, I feel homecoming is so good. No, I have not received my confirmation letter yet. It is this feeling that, frequent traveling Kulim-KL-Kulim makes you miss home more and more. It never subsides really.

It's 12 midnight, and I should have long been dreaming on my bed.

It is funny that you can develop affection towards somebody in a short space of time. Life is unpredictable, it has always been like that. Japan, amongst the best in technology, lost billions of dollars with hundreds of life in the recent tsunami.

You always hope that whatever is given to you is the best for you. I reckon everybody hates it that when they think they have got everything, in a blink of an eye, they are gone.

Nothing lasts forever, but the hatred towards the saying never ceases. All good things will end one day, and so do the bad ones.

One thing that we should always keep in mind is the trust to Allah. He knows best.

I've been wanting to write for the past few days, honestly. However, this holiday is about non stop traveling for me.

Imagine this, Kulim to Kl the day before raya, next KL to Johor Bahru on the first day. Third day of Raya, JB to KL, and KL-Melaka-KL the day after. I had a break on the 5th, and I safely arrived at Kulim at 5pm(1 hour ago).

I feel physically tired.

Nevertheless, it was a fruitful tired. I am over the moon again. I shall keep it low, at least for now.

I got to see my family, and a couple of friends.

Not to forget the duit raya, it is by far the biggest I've ever received. Shortly afterwards, 90% had to spend for some important reasons(biggest portion for hutang!).

Now that I am back in Kulim, I will kick start my financial saving drive today. Yes today. I reached Kulim at 4.50pm, and at 6.26pm, I have seen close to 10 patients in clinic.

I have got to start working hard again.

I remember once the commentator was saying 'just when you think you've seen everything', during the Champs League final in 2005.

Life is unpredictable, is it not? One moment you feel that you are on top of the world, and next with no warning you can hit rock bottom.

I feel grateful for what He has given me. Everything that happens has its reasons, and virtues of course.

Now it is Day 21 of Ramadhan, and it goes without saying that this holy month will finally leave us, regardless of what we feel.

At the end of the day, you will roughly sort of know if you have succeeded, or not. The deeds recorded will be kept up there, and only will be judged at Hereafter.

Grant me the strength to maximise the benefits, ya Allah.

I was going to start packing up for tomorrow's homecoming journey. Out of nothing, I suddenly feel the urge to write.

It all occurred in August 15th, 2 days ago. A patient with Chronic Rheumatic Heart Disease was admitted for transportation purpose for his follow up at IJN (National Heart Institute). As I was seeing him, I felt all the troubles in the world had disappeared.

He's a young boy, less than 12 as far as I can remember. His mother came to see me a couple of weeks ago, asking to sign his welfare application form. I asked the mother 'are you both well prepared for tomorrow?' and 'how much did they ask you to pay during your last visit?' .

The answer was RM50. I'm pretty confident to the many of you will have no qualms paying that. Deep inside I knew RM50 means the world to them.

They returned to Kulim last night. To my surprise, they were asked to now pay RM350. I suppose you can tell how much would they be able to pay? I assumed they had brought RM50 again, but how much do you know about them right? They could only afford RM30, and kudos to IJN for treating them well. Allah knows your virtues and you will insyaAllah be rewarded for your good deeds.

This event makes me think. We will achieve our 54th Independent Day since 1957. Moving towards 2020 and lauding your near 0 poverty means nothing. I repeat, nothing. How responsible are our leaders?

Both PR and BN, please wake up. Your hatred towards each other does not benefit the rakyat at all. Until today, I do not know what will this boy's family have for their iftar and the coming Eid.

I strongly hope PPZ will be more generous in distributing their zakat collection.

I thank Allah for sending me to Kulim. There are still a lot more to learn.

Pemuda lesu

Dengan nama Allah Maha Pemurah Maha Mengasihani

Sedar tak sedar, dah masuk hari ke-12 dah hari ni. Ada yang kata cepat, ada yang kata lambat. Tak kisahla bab tu kan.... sehari tetap ada 24 jam macam mana pun.

Kebelakangan ini banyak isu yang mengganggu kita. Yang paling jelas pada mata saya ialah isu JAIS.

Saya mulakan dengan khutbah Jumaat hari ni. Mungkin saya yang terlalu letih sebab semalam tidur lewat sebab teringin sahur Nasi Kandar Beratur di Penang. Tapi bukan sekali, yang kita keluar dari masjid tanpa ingat apa isi kandungan khutbah yang kita dengar tak sampai 20 minit lepas.

Institusi Islam yang diberi kuasa terlalu pasif dan lesu. Tanpa menafikan jasa yang telah ditaburkan, kita lihat mereka agak perlahan dalam menangani isu-isu semasa. Khutbah jumaat hanya sekadar untuk dibaca oleh para khatib.

Saya masih ingat ketika di tingkatan 5 di MRSM Pengkalan Chepa. Saya kebetulan di belakang Tuan Guru Nik Aziz yang sehingga sekarang kelihatan tidak berapa sihat fizikalnya. Yang mengagumkan, Tuan Guru naik ke mimbar dan terus memberi peringatan tanpa melihat kepada teks. Terasa lain sangat dengan khutbah Jumaat sekarang, yang tak ubah macam memberi bantal kepada orang-orang yang mengantuk.

Institusi-institusi ini juga agak pasif dalam sentiasa mengukuhkan akidah umat. Terlalu pasif dalam tindakan yang diputuskan.

Oleh sebab itu, ramai yang riuh suara bila serbuan JAIS terhadap gereja. Pertama sekali untuk saya, saya tidak pernah mendengar hujah Hassan Ali, Jais dan pihak gereja dalam isu ini. Sukar untuk saya memberi komen yang adil tanpa hujah kedua-dua pihak.

Akan tetapi, berbeza sungguh zaman ini sikapnya. Seperti lemah kita ini yang jika kita diberi kitab Bible Melayu atau masuk gereja, kita akan jadi rosak akidah.

Saya selalu suka pendekatan yang lain daripada kebanyakan kawan saya. Saya suka mengambil pendekatan penambahbaikan kualiti diri daripada melemahkan kekuatan lawan. Saya sendiri walaupun menyokong kempen boikot Israel, saya lebih suka membeli barang buatan Muslim. Ini kerana dengan kekuatan sendiri yang lebih kuat, kita secara tidak langsung memberi kita booster untuk melawan pihak lawan.

Juga sama dengan pihak Pemuda Pas Pusat, yang agak pasif dan reaktif. Mereka hanya menunggu 'event' untuk datang dan tiba, kemudian akan turun membantah. Konsert tu dan konsert ini, tugas mereka hendak membantah.

Adakah jauh lebih baik jika mereka mengambil pendekatan yang aktif. Saya suka melihat contoh yang ditunjukkan YB KJ yang turun ke serata Malaysia untuk BN Youth Job Fair. Bukan nak suruh tiru, tetapi aktif jauh lagi dari pasif. Ada eloknya mereka sediakan pertandingan sukan, cari peluang kerja, promosi gaya hidup sihat dan lain-lain. Sekurang-kurangnya nampak juga alternatif untuk orang muda berhibur dengan cara lain.

Pada mata kasar rakyat, Pemuda Pas ni sangat pasif dan kerja hanya ingin bantah konsert yang datang di Malaysia.

Mereka sepatutnya mengemudi pemuda.

Saya tahu, saya bukan orang terbaik untuk komen. Tapi sebagai rakyat, saya ingin melihat PAS berdiri tinggi di mata rakyat.

It's one of those days for me, that you complain so much over 1 thing that you cannot get. You have all the reasons in the world to express your gratitude, but you prefer to sit down and do nothing.

It is exactly the same that when you make 1 and only mistake, that people forgets all the good things you have done. They will only talk about nothing but the mistake that you did.

That is just how life is.

I know this attitude is unforgivable. More over, when God has given you so much, yet you have very little will to be thankful.

I will never stop learning. I shouldn't eh?

I am bored to the max here in clinic.

I have 5 more hours to go, and to be honest, I really do not know what am I doing this for?

I work hard and I barely have the time to enjoy this money. I hardly even have the time to have adequate rest.

I have decided that this coming Ramadhan is the time for me to focus on prayers and good deeds. On and off there will be a few slots to be filled in, but rest assured, maximum is nothing more than 5 slots outside.

I need to get a life this time.

How do you define a life anyway?

I am sorry. Life's not as organized lately, as I hoped for. So many things have happened.

Forget all this worldly matters. The Holy month of Ramadhan is closer than we think. In less than 5 days, we will have to wake up in early morning for sahur, going up to work with 13 hour spell of empty stomach and prayers at night.

Everybody seems to be excited.

Alhamdulillah, I have been able to endure the previous years. Honestly, you can tell whether your fasting has actually achieved everything but success.

I don't want to go on 30 days of fasting, and the end result remains the same old Azri. Many deem this as a school, where you give your best shot to come out as a successful graduate.

I remember as a student, in New Zealand, it was close to winter and the weather never really helped, really. You could never enjoy your friendship more than what we had here. It was never about race. Malaysians, Arabs, Indians and all Muslims around the world sat down together, waiting for the time to break fast.

I treasure those memories. Sometimes you wish you could turn back time and enjoy those moments again.

Have you ever seen somebody suffering as a result of what you have inflicted? To be honest, I have, and it was never my intention.I never intended,and something I never wanted.

To this person, I pray that 1 day will be back on your feet, face the world as strong as it was before. I am sorry that you are not getting the support that you ought to get. I am still right behind you, but eventually it will be down to you to believe that you can get up again.

You know my position very well.

Perhaps whatever has happened is a blessing in disguise. We are weak after all. We can plan, and execute it to the max as we can. That is as far as your body can go. The final outcome will be at His courtesy. He knows what is best for us.

I wish you all the best in the future. It was a sweet 1 1/2 years for me, it really really was.

I can't promise what will happen in the future, but what is certain, I only want the best for us.

Over the past few days, I feel more calm, settled.

I don't know what has made me feel that. To a certain extent, I can confidently attribute this to the kulliyah by Dr Asri.

I think I've made up my mind. What has happened has happened. Of course, there are regrets. I suppose that is part and parcel of life. No matter how hard you try sometimes, the happy ending may be far off from what you have dreamed off.

Hence, you may as well swallow the pill, though it is bitter. Not everything that is bitter is bad.

I once, was the first to get cramps in the expedition to conquer Gunung Tahan. The group consisted of 8 boys and 8 girls. It was embarrassing to have had that, but I was in the smaller group that reached the summit eventually.

It's a beautiful Saturday. It is the last day of the weekend in Kedah. Weekend is defined as Friday and Saturday here.

The weather is stunning, cool and breezy after a late night rain. It reminds me of New Zealand somehow. Funny enough, I missed Malaysia like crazy during my stint there. I tried to get a bit of Malaysia in everything I do. I played Malay songs everyday, ate Malaysian food and many more.

Where are you now, you might ask? Well, since I became a doctor, I have hardly been at home. If I don't go out, I'll be away doing extra work, i.e. locum. 2 things, firstly extra money, and secondly to improve my clinical knowledge.

I am not the type that likes to spend hours in front of my television set. Exception is for football matches and good movies.

In the next few months to come, I look forward to having a long deserved break. I haven't decided where to go, but I need a bit of fresh air. So many ups and downs recently, hence the reason why.

I believe this is a test from Allah. God willing, I will emerge stronger.

Yeah, it has been a long short hiatus here. I apologise for that, it's nothing short than a turbulance to describe the past few weeks.

Well, I am not in the best state of mind to reveal anything yet. I guess I need some time for recovery, both mentally and physically.

I just want to say that I would like to be active here again, sharing my thoughts on anything and everything I like.

I really miss that part of my life, where I am critical in my ideas and opinions, and I get replies questioning my thoughts.

There's a saying "What does not kill you will only make you stronger". To be honest, I am not into this, but I will learn to be back on my feet again. I know I will.

Life is like this, you win some and you lose some.

Nobody likes to lose. Proven many times, winning or losing is not an option.

I feel emotionally disturbed. This wave of discontent is troubling me.

Have you ever had a thing that you badly wanted, it was never taken away, but the delivery was delayed? Delayed not in a matter of minutes or hours, but in a bigger scale.

I wouldn't mind if I can guarantee I still have 40 years ahead of me.

I keep telling myself, things happen for a reason. I had a break up, and was later substituted with a better one. That is an example of course.

I feel like picking up a fight. No, that is not a wise move.It won't make things better, for sure.

"Ya Tuhan kami, janganlah Engkau hukum kami jika kami lupa atau melakukan kesalahan. It's really strange to be mentioning this, but jealousy has preoccupied my mind for the past 2 days. I seem not to be able to get rid of this one thought.

I suppose not to go into details in the matter above is a smart move.

Preaching to people that 'you don't always get what you want' is the easiest thing to do. We've been taught that there's always a reason for everything that happens. Allah never fails to listen to us. He never rejects our requests. He is fair, he knows when to grant the request and when to substitute it with something better.

Having that in mind, I guess patience is the key.

In the meantime, I know the key to success is to work hard, and work smart. Work harder, harder and harder.

I hope at the same time I will strive harder to become a better Muslim.

I know this page is lacking in update for almost a week, or slightly more. I've been slightly busy though. You know that you can't always win. Also important to note that you will always lose something in every victory.

Life as a medical officer is not easy. Every post on call I'll feel extremely exhausted, without fail. No matter how much sleep do I get through the night, the next day surely makes me I need a day off to completely recover.

Anyways, I have been making my life busy by working extra time in private clinics. I'm earning some extra money, and I guess it is only fair that I use a large chunk of that money for myself. Therefore folks, enjoy this!

I have returned to the right path. I was with Htc previously, before switching to Nokia. The time is right, couldn't be any better somehow.

I pledged my loyalty to Samsung 10 years ago. I reckon there is always turning back in this matter.

I'll be at Penang for the next 2 days. This time it is for asthma seminar. Quite looking forward to it really. God willing, I will come back with some improvised knowledge, and photos!!!

Weekend has started for me. Well it is Friday, and this is Kedah. Tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday I am back to normal working day. Sigh..

Personally, I would prefer to have a standardized system throughout the whole country. It would be easier to coordinate activities with our beloved families.

I still find it hard to fathom the reasons given. It doesn't seem right.

9. Hai orang-orang beriman, apabila diseru untuk menunaikan shalat Jum'at, maka bersegeralah kamu kepada mengingat Allah dan tinggalkanlah jual beli^[1475]. Yang demikian itu lebih baik bagimu jika kamu mengetahui.

10. Apabila telah ditunaikan shalat, maka bertebaranlah kamu di muka bumi; dan carilah karunia Allah dan ingatlah Allah banyak-banyak supaya kamu beruntung.

Surah Jumaah

People will go home post prayer to sleep. It doesn't match the character that our holy Quran describes.

Even the Westerners work hard on Friday. Weekend starts on Friday night. Whereas here in Malaysia, Friday is your first day of weekend.

What progression could you achieve when you continue with this? Less transaction is made on Friday, and Sunday when it opens, occasionally you have to wait till Monday to get all the paper works done. We are well left behind, my dear brothers and sisters.

11. Dan apabila mereka melihat perniagaan atau permainan, mereka bubar untuk menuju kepadanya dan mereka tinggalkan kamu sedang berdiri (berkhotbah). Katakanlah: "Apa yang di sisi Allah lebih baik daripada permainan dan perniagaan", dan Allah Sebaik-baik Pemberi rezki. (surah jumaah)

Another thing is, it is not to have your lunch or cendol during the sermon.

I think we Malaysians have seen the dirtiest that we could ever imagine in our politics. The video that is said to have involved Anwar Ibrahim has been disseminated all over the country. What is more disgusting, Utusan and Kosmo, have cut and pasted the stilled images from the clip and made it public, for the youngster to the old folks to read.

I don't know if I will ever forgive Utusan. I truly don't know where are the so called 40 ulama who joined UMNO with the intention to spread the good image of Islam. I feel disgusted looking at UMNO. I feel disgusted that they call themselves Malay Muslim when the only thing that they do is slandering.

If it is really Anwar, bring him to court.

I will never vote for UMNO, for as long as blood is pumping through my veins. Call me fanatic, but I really cannot tolerate this.

To the scholars in UMNO, I have never lost so much respect as I have at you. I mean it.

I had my first ever on call as a medical officer. For your information, medical officer is a step above of House Officer, or houseman as they call it in Malaysia. Medical officer is a fully registered doctor, after completing 2 years as a medical graduate.

It was a super exhausting call. I was pretty much non stop running from 8 am till midnight. The climax when I received a call asking for my presence in a premature 31 week pregnancy in labour.

Saving his life alone took almost 3 hours.

I went home the next day at 10, and was absolutely flattened out till 2 pm.

It was a good learning experience nonetheless.

It touches your heart somehow when somebody recognises you and you don't feel the same way. For instance, today I was about to pay for 3 doughnuts, I asked 'Berapa ni pakcik'?. He replied back 'Seringgit je doktor'.

That was the not the first time. Deep inside in your heart, you wonder 'who is this person again?'.

I suppose that is the way of life that our old folks used to have. These days it is known as 'please, mind your own business'. Those days, they know each and everyone of the villagers. They care, and are kind to each other.

Kulim, though having a steadily increasing population, currently 300 000, is not really a big town. Well, that is obvious I guess. The town is nothing more than just a small 'pekan'. Hence, the old values and the lifestyle.

Today I had the discuss with my friend regarding wedding, as in what is ideal and fits our culture.

I think we have long blindly followed the custom without questioning it. We have got ourselves into a expensive and tedious affair.

In Malaysia alone, we have Utara, Kelantan, Terengganu and Melaka Malays.The list goes on and on. What fascinates me is that between these small states, the custom varies significantly.

As far as I can understand, you can expect your wallet to thin faster should your partner come from Northern states, in term of spending for the wedding.

I am not a die hard fan of this you see.

Moreover when you see that most Northern Malays are not wealthy in general.

There are many things that you find it difficult to fathom throughout our lives. Some of them, we have just to swallow it in, despite its bitter taste.

As you are already aware of, weekend in Kedah is defined by Friday and Saturday. That is not ideal of course. I would rather have 1 standardized system for everybody, and I am pretty sure many will agree.

Anyway, not all weekends are meant to be wasted. Right now, I am stuck in Permatang Pauh doing locum. Do you know Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is from this area? Anwar, come out and show yourself! They have come to see you!!

This whole thing will finish by evening.

Many have opted to do locum to earn extra income. With the amount we are getting, it is sufficient to lead a just comfortable lifestyle. Well, not really, if you work and live in big cities.

For me, the moment we receive our salary, almost half of it will be gone by 1 day. Loans here and there, and bills too.

Imagine if you are 28 and you have a wife and 3 kids to look after.

I admire the older generations who had successfully raised more than 5 kids. 5 is just a number by the way, as an example. The current generation at this point of time, hardly have more than 4 kids. The reason given is high cost of living.

I share the same sentiment.

That is why I appreciate my (relatively) young age. I work extra hard for the future. Do not speculate, it has nothing to do with future kids(yet). I am just saying, for future property investments, car loans and perhaps, getting married? lol!!

Not to forget, investment for the hereafter is right as important as the world. A balance between these 2 worlds is vital for everybody, especially the Muslims.

There is not much to blog about today. I'm in a new phase, where as a Medical Officer, you are no longer required to be there 7 days a week. 5 days is of course compulsory, whereas on the weekend you ought to be there if you are on the on call list.

The past 5 days have taught me a lot. Now as a medical officer, you bear the responsibility for whatever you are dealing with. Mistakes are now not tolerable.

I have learned how to save babies. Still the knowledge needs more fixing. I tend to jumble up everything when panicking. A great advantage that I posses is that I get acclimatised quickly, not everyday though. Alhamdulillah..

Let's chill out a bit.

Without the slightest doubt in my mind, Malaysians can call themselves extremely lucky. Too many events have taken place very very recently, from East to West. Japan are struggling with the impact from tsunami, Libyans are still battling for their lives and many more.

Having said that, being lucky we are, we have made our lives difficult unnecessarily. Started from Sodomy Trial, the endless corruption and the latest sex scandal, said to be involving Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

There are 2 group of characters here, 1stly, the group that will blindly believe their PKR/UMNO leaders are perfect. Secondly, the group that will object everything whatever their counterparts say.

Have we forgotten,

“Wahai orang-orang yang beriman, hendaklah kamu semua sentiasa menjadi orang-orang yang menegakkan keadilan kerana Allah, lagi menerangkan kebenaran dan jangan sekali-kali kebencian kamu terhadap sesuatu kaum itu mendorong kamu kepada tidak melakukan keadilan. Hendaklah kamu berlaku adil (kepada sesiapa jua) kerana sikap adil itu lebih hampir kepada takwa dan bertakwalah kepada Allah, sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui dengan mendalam akan apa yang kamu lakukan. We ought to analyse all the information that is fed to us.

Jika datang kepada kamu seorang fasik membawa sesuatu berita, maka selidikilah (untuk menentukan) kebenarannya, supaya kamu tidak menimpakan sesuatu kaum dengan perkara yang tidak diingini - dengan sebab kejahilan kamu (mengenainya) - sehingga me...njadikan kamu menyesali apa yang kamu telah lakukan.(al-Hujurat:6).

We must also continue researching the best answer to the question we want the most, the truth. The quest is never straightforward, and that is the reason why victory is sweet.

Today is day number 6 of my long awaited holiday. This leave is a bit special in a way, that I get to meet up a lot of friends. Sometimes I feel like capturing all these moments on camera, so that I get to remember these forever. Weird enough, the only camera that I have is my iPod (if that is counted in).

I too was fortunate enough to have the chance to travel to Melaka yesterday. It was a day trip, so now you can still imagine how tired I am now. The last time I stepped foot there was perhaps 6 years ago, attending Zahrul's brother's wedding.

Melaka has changed a lot. It is much more beautiful now, complimented by its outstanding landscape. The food wasn't as good as expected. I can't complain much though, it was only a one time experience.

There is more to tell, unfortunately time is not on my side now.

I think if, at this time you really have no idea what is taking place in Japan, you are the most ignorant person(s) in the world.

I really hope more help will come, hence more lives can be saved. We have had the experience of Acheh, and losing 200 000 of your fellow countrymen is really bitter to take.

It was a turbulent weekend for me, a mixture of joyful, nerve wrecking and also frustrating 2 days.

Yesterday was the last working day a House Officer for me. Officially it will all be over on March 10th, however I am taking leave for the last 3 days. It has been a long 2 years for me. Some have said time flies fast, but that does not seem to be the case for me. With so many ups and downs, I think I have become a better person.

The older you become, the more challenges you will face. It is a scary thought that it's you, yes YOU, need to be on your own 2 feet as age catches up. More responsibilities are placed on your shoulders, and your decision may affect millions. Even worse for me, as a doctor, they will come to me asking to save lives, as if I am God.

The tall order of to keep everyone happy is also another tough task to carry out. It needs no further elaboration here. I reckon maturity is an entity that we need to have, or rather develop, to be a leader, of your family to the least.

I guess what I am saying is now that I have reached a higher level of my career, I need to strive harder, to be better than what I am now.

I still have 5 more days to go, before I will be called as Medical Officer.

Putting that aside, the weekend, yeah. What about the weekend?

Started off with a bang, the committee members and I managed to gather our schoolmates to a reunion get together on Saturday. It was our first meet after 10 years. These people still look the same, some have gotten fatter, some have lost so much weight that they looked like 'mat pit'. Nevertheless, it was an event to remember. One month of hard labour haver paid off, and I couldn't help but to fall asleep while my sisters enjoying Hantu Kak Limah at 9 pm.

The next day, I was back at Kulim. A few of us gathered at Nassmir to watch Liverpool-Man Utd game. 3-1, what a night. Fernando who still echoes now and then. He is gone, and who needs him when we have Luis Suarez. Andy Carroll was given his long awaited debut, almost marked off with a superb assist to Dirk Kuyt. Kenny Dalglish, Happy Belated Birthday to you sir. You can't be more right, there is this belief in Anfield now. The fun to watch Liverpool is back.

There was another news that broke the heart of Malaysians on the same days. The people of Merlimau and Kerdau had had their say, and they voted for BN. I do not blame the defeat entirely on these relatively education lacking citizens, but rather partially must be finger pointed to Pakatan Rakyat. The entire mechanism is a mess.

Please rearrange the lines. Malaysians need a stable and strong opposition, if not a new government.

For everything that happens, there will be a reason behind it. I have fallen before, I refused to acknowledge the future can be entirely differently that you could have imagined. Allah knows best.

I am obviously exhausted. It is 1 am Friday morning. I feel restless. Something is troubling my mind. It isn't preoccupied with anything specific though. I don't know. I can't explain it.

For whatever it is, I still have to be thankful to Allah. Without his bless, I wouldn't have reached home tonight.

God willing, I shall be successful in getting some sleep tonight.

It is true I suppose the domino effect has kicked in. Now it has spread to Libya, Algeria and Bahrain.

People are getting discontent with how their respective government are treating them. They manifest it, and it is their right to express it.

Regardless of whether you are an UMNO supporter or Pakatan Rakyat, it is widely accepted that the leaders in third world countries are the most corrupted ones. Stating the obvious examples are Hosni Mobarak and Ben Ali.

Sometimes this happens right under your nose and you pretend that it is never there. For example, Taib Mahmud, the Chief Minister of Sarawak. How much wealth has he amassed it beyond my knowledge. The amount is not important, but what must be made public is he is a corrupted man.

Sarawak, being Sarawak, we can foresee they will be still under BN rule for years to come. We plead for a change, and for us, who have no money and power, we rely on the educated ones to relay the info to the Sarawakians. We want change. 51% from Peninsular Malaysia voted for PR.

What differentiates Malaysia and other states are we we love peace. Not many are willing to go down the stress to protests. For us, for whatever that we want, we will let our votes do the talking.

I urge my fellow friends, to step up in your efforts to read, read and read more. I am 98% sure not many from you know what is happening in Bahrain and others. For instance, doctors were beaten to near death, Algerians machine-gunned and many more.

Do not sit down in warung and read Utusan, and start talking like you know everything. Reading Utusan and Harian Metro brings you, your race and the nation backwards. You can't disagree with this can you?

I've just come back from Kuala Lumpur, the city where everybody knows my name. It was for only 2 1/2 days, but joyful nevertheless.

The only negative from the journey was the recently started never ending toothache. My goodness, Panadol can only provide temporary relief. After some, the pain returns faithfully to me. Why oh why?

I can't complain though. So little grateful have I given back to the Almighty. So little have I obeyed the rules and regulations of Islam, yet so many sins have I committed, continuously.

The time will come when this pain goes away, and good and bad moments will come, albeit continuously or alternately.

I am thankful for everything.

bersidang pada 22 hingga 24 November 2005 lalu bersetuju memutuskan bahawa
amalan meraikan Hari Kekasih tidak digalakkan agama Islam.

Kebanyakan kita sejak dari bangku sekolah lagi disuap dengan maklumat, ilmu dan segala jenis bende oleh cikgu-cikgu.

Suasana yang pasif ini menyebabkan kebanyakan kita menerima bende seadanya, tanpa mempersoalkan kesahihan atau kebatilan kenyataan2 guru2 itu.

Lihat sahaja tarikh 14 Feb ini, yang dipanggil Hari Kekasih atau Valentine's Day.

Begitu banyak cerita buruk tentang Valentine's ini, dari seorang Paderi yang menentang kerajaan, pembunuh Muslim, bercinta walaupun dia seorang paderi dan macam2 lagi. Dari mana sumbernya pun, tidak pernah diberikan.

Saya juga pernah terlintas tulisan seorang warga bukan Muslim dahulunya di Myspace. Saya tidak sempat membaca keseluruhannya. Apa yang beliau tulis ialah cerita2 baik tentang St Valentine ini.

Secara intelektualnya, dan sebagai seorang Muslim kita tidak boleh memfitnah orang sesuka hati, baik dia Muslim atau tidak. Jika anda tidak tahu apa fakta dan apa 'auta', baiklah anda jangan berbicara. Janganlah anda cuba berlagak pandai terutama dalam hal agama.

Jika ditanya oleh bukan Muslim, jika anda tidak berjaya meyakinkan hujah dengan ilmu dan sumber yang sahih, dan lebih malu jika pihak non-Muslim itu pula kata sumber pihak Kristian mereka mengatakan St Valentine itu adalah orang jenis itu dan ini. Anda bukan sahaja memalukan diri anda, tetapi impak lebih besarnya ialah anda menjatuhkan nama Islam.

Dan janganlah kamu sekalian menyerupai Yahudi dan Nasrani. H/R Ahmad.

Kenapa tidak kita menyambut Valentine's Day ini ialah kerana bukan perayaan kita. Tidak kiralah sama ada St Valentine itu pengebom berani mati ataupun pencinta wanita, perayaan ini tiada dalam agama kita.

Jika anda begitu semangat nak buktikan St. Valentine itu orang ini dan itu, silakan. Anda akan menjadi lebih berilmu daripada saya, dan jika anda rajin silalah kongsikan.

Dari Ibn Umar ra berkata : Bersabda Rasulullah s.a.w : Sesiapa yang menyerupai satu satu kaum, maka ia telah menjadi golongan mereka. H/R Ahmad, Abu Daud dan at Tabrani.

Untuk saya, Ringkas alasannya. Valentine's Day bukan hari perayaan Muslim.

Saya berterima kasih kepada pihak berkuasa kerana berkhutbah tajuk Ajaran Songsang dan Valentine's. Cume lebih baik kalau penyampaiannya lebih efektif. Lebih baik juga kalau Pemuda PAS, Pemuda UMNO dan pihak2 NGO dapat bersatu dalam mencegah maksiat. Masing2 terlalu sibuk berpolitik hingga laungan2 politik itu hanya menjadi retorik pada akhirnya. Masing2 ada BIRO agama yang hanya BIRO pada nama sahaja. PAS juga terlalu asyik berpolitik. Pemuda2 di bawah dibiarkan sahaja oleh pihak2 agama ini.

Tiga jenis manusia yang dibenci oleh Allah (antara mereka) ialah penganut Islam yang masih memilih (meniru) perbuatan jahiliah. H/R al-Bukhari.

Yang harus diterangkan ialah implikasi menyambut perayaan ini. Kesan masa pendek dan masa panjang terhadap pembangunan Islam dan negara.

Tomorrow is the day that perhaps many have been waiting for. Why Feb 14?

Many have read several versions of Valentine's Day. Does it matter which one is the most correct? It doesn't, does it?

They say, we celebrate tomorrow in the name of love. I reckon, in the name of love many girls have fallen into the trap. In the name of love, we see statistics of unwanted delivery blooming up in November and December. In the name of love, a lot of married coupled file for a divorce.

None of these are necessary.

It is not a day to remember for us, the Muslims. We get deceived looking at all the seductive promotions of this and that, and we do not get anything in return. Who are the real ones celebrating this? Memory Lane is!

Tomorrow is not for us. It's as simple as that.

If you think the Muslims are falling behind those Western countries, celebrating Valentine's is one the reasons the Westerns' downfall. If we copy them in the unwanted and less ideal ways, we are making ourselves further left behind.

In the end, we have only ourselves to blame. It's as simple as that.

I'm absolutely glad that last week ended yesterday. It was a turbulent week, and one of the most nerve-wrecking weeks of my life.

What is sweeter was how the way it closed its curtain.

2 issues that made into the trending topics last week
-Torres
-Egypt.

1st of all, I am very grateful to Allah for bringing back my younger sister. She was stuck in Egypt. God knows how terrible it was, but she endured it. Admirable I must say. Put yourself in her shoes, and tell me if you could ever stand 1 day in Egypt without food, all sorts of communication and family.

Some have objected, and I believe they are entitled to their opinions. Still, it doesn't make sense to come up with ridiculous ideas. Have a look at my facebook, in one of the headline statuses. Incredible the way they tackle this issue.

When Kenya managed to provide 13 airplanes to bring home their citizens, it makes you wonder how slow our Government was, doesn't it?

It is your opinion, but I'm pretty sure if I didn't mention Umno in that sentence, you wouldn't have gotten angry, and I am very confident of this.

I think I have just rediscovered the joy of playing football. King Kenny has now get everybody going. His magic manifested in my display tonight, not terrific, but I feel good, that is how I describe it.

You know when you are scoring goals, albeit not freely, you feel that confidence is roaring high. The next one will spur you to score another one.

Though it was another futsal session, I never really enjoyed being a striker. I feel the greatest joy in defending my own keep. Going home with 3 points is more felt when you have secured a clean sheet.

The way I see myself throughout these 27 years is, I am a team player. A victory as a team is more important than winning the top goalscorer award.

I may not have the best qualities to become a leader, but believe me, when I get the right team mates, I do strive for success together.

For the past couple of days, I seem to have little motivation to get up in the morning to go to work. It is not the same anymore. The joy of coming to work is not there.

Previously, life was better, in terms of relativity. I get to express myself freely. Whatever job is given will be distributed evenly. All the time, there must be one who must break this teamwork spirit.

A happy man 4 days before

Why, why and why?

He, hardly does any job. He, runs away a lot of the time. He, comes late EVERYday. He, goes for long 'short smoking session.'

He, also however, makes it public over the smallest job he did yesterday. He, tries to portray good image in front of the seniors. He, even complains that nobody ever helps him do the job in the ward.

The seniors, well, a couple of them know of this.

You see, knowing alone does not do any good. Better still, they keep their eyes blind.

When boss praises this so called 'hardworking fella' , none of them open their mouth.

The hardest to swallow, when boss brings down several of my colleagues, none of them try to defend the juniors.

Why, why and why?

When you work your socks off, and your colleague doesn't, you get run down and he gets all the praises in the world.

Who on earth cares about the praises. To the many of us, we feel extremely low after being told off in that manner.

It does not only hurt, it kills off your motivation.

Surprisingly, fairness, I suppose, is the projected image that they see in themselves.

I know I better keep it low, at least for now. If any of them happens to read my blog, so be it. At least, I get to express myself. Knowing that our voices are not heard, the more I keep it inside, the hotter it is the burning sensation to vomit this out.

I have decided to channel it down in this blog.

Perhaps, if they come through this blog, they will have the courtesy to seek what is the truth.

This blog has been on a hiatus for the last fortnight. I'm terribly sorry for the lack of updates. Believe me, having to work for 34 hours non stop for 4 times since the New Year has really taken its toll. I am dead tired.

I still keep myself updated through Twitter and Mobile Facebook. I recently bought myself an Apple iPod. Pretty awesome stuff really. It is rather unfortunate that you need access to Internet in order for you to navigate the Touch to the max.

I installed an apps to perform a countdown to the end of housemanship. I am no more than 57 days away from crossing the finish line. Excited? You tell me!

Rumours are saying that I have been drafted into joining Paediatrics team in the future. Disastrous! I think I have to come to a decision that adult medical is the way to go for me.

Fingers crossed that whatever is given to me, I shall take it a challenge from Allah. I believe whatever is fated, it is for the better me.

Yucky isn't it when PR-led Selangor government implemented a ban on 1 Malaysia ads on billboards. Absolutely disgusting.

It came after so many years of trashing BN all the time, from top to bottom. Now they are doing it themselves?

It is definitely not a smart move my dear leaders.

With the invention of new upcoming social network apps, for instance Tweeter, it is becomingly more evident that instability can be seen in both parties.

The question now is, are we choosing the better of between 2 worse options?

No wonder the Third Force has emerged from its nutshell.

PR needs seriously a major overhaul. PAS is the best of this 3, always able to keep it quiet, but a steady strong attacking force. DAP is not bad, but PKR......seems to be on lost direction, aren't they?

Thinking about it again, is there any possibility that UMNO controlled media are succeeding?

In my humble opinion, PR needs to work harder. Seriously, because we need better leaders.

Politics aside, I have never been more impressed with our local film industry. In specific, this movie, loooooooooooooooooooooks awesome!

Life is rather stressful nowadays. As expected, the more senior you become, the higher the expectation is placed on you. You are sort of, a role model for the juniors.

Hence, when corrected by your seniors, you tend to vent your anger unnecessarily. You will react, as if you are perfect and mistakes are something not part of you.

This is reality for me. I am the senior most at my level. I know there is always room for improvement.

I think it has to be re-made public that political awareness among the Malays in this country isn't that good.

Statistically proven in GE 2008 that the percentage of Malay voters turning out to cast their votes is lower than the Chinese.

Surprisingly, the Malays have the highest number of MPs in the Parliament.

Moving into modern society, this awareness that politics is an important aspect of our lives is undeniably important. I'm pretty sure politics exist everywhere, from your home to your office.

Some say politics is dirty, hence the ignorance. I beg to differ. Politics consisted of men and systems, and it's the former that gives b to the latter.

It is not about being fanatic to your label of preference, but one has to understand that 1 vote is important in shaping the future of our country.

To translate this into simple words, the Malays and all Malaysians should first and foremost, register themselves with Election Commissions. Make your voices heard.

Fence sitters are for those with no knowledge, no principals and low intergrity. Whoever your choice is, it is important. Never it is as important as casting your votes, really.

I have registered with EC a few months ago. Have you?

It was a rather strange night, last night. I arrived safely at destination at 7 pm. More or less 4 hours did I take from KL to Kulim.

The night before I had barely 6 hours of sleep.

Being obviously tired last night, I switched off everything from my comp to my Blackberry at 11 am. I tried, somehow my constant turn to right and left did not help either.

I finally managed to get a couple of hours eventually. How exactly is still a question. If there is somebody I really have to thank for is none other than Allah.

He kept me occupied the whole day. I was going to take a nap in the afternoon. Barely 5 minutes, I was asked to be at another ward.

Only Allah knows how tired I am at the moment.

At times, whenever I go through this period, I wish home was a few steps away. I can't deny, I yearn to return to KL.

KL is home.

Home.

Home.

Home.

I am truly grateful to Allah for being given the chance to spend a wonderful time with family last weekend.

I find it hard to believe that she is married. She is 24, mature enough to be a wife. To my eyes, she is still my younger sister. =)

I suppose it could be a hint that nobody is getting any younger. I will turn 28 at the end of next year. Not being able to step up to a higher level is boring, if you know what I mean. Stagnant sucks.

During this wedding, I got the chance to snap a photo with this gentleman, who makes headline more often than not, lately.

I respect for whatever he is fighting for. Having said that, that does not mean I agree with his ideas. Never.

Lately, lots have been said on Ketuanan Melayu or Malay Supremacy.

To be honest, I don't feel it is necessary.

In my humble opinion, this thing has to go one day. Together with Chinese and Tamil schools. It doesn't have to be implemented abruptly. A target must be set that for instance, in 30 years from now, everyone will be on the same terms, regardless of their skin colour.

A race of Malaysian will then be the only identity for all us.

That is how I define a successful 1 Malaysia.

Nowadays, with the widespread use of Twitter and Facebook, the power of blogging seems to be waning away. I do tweet, but the nature of my job prohibits me from becoming the next 'Aisehman' or 'Anwar Ibrahim'.

How to tweet when lots of patients need to your attention?

I am not that significant in the tweet world, but sometimes it gives you a good feeling that somebody like Nik Nazmi is following me on Twitter.

Blogging is still my cup of tea. Here I get to express my thoughts freely.

Lately, I have received a lot of wedding invitations. I feel great for them. Do I envy them? Yeah, to some extent.

Nothing to do with masculinity, I personally think the affinity between male and female runs in our bloods. Hence, the relationship and marriage.

I never expected my last article able to attract so many. Previously my page average 100 readers per day, but it has reduced over the past 2 years, since I started my job.

From the bottom of my heart, I extend my apologies to whomever it may concern. Blame the bad apples, they have given you and me a bad name.

The damage done by some lazy house officers has been done, and to turn the table, we started to find faults from the opposite party. As a consequence, the good name of many medical officers have been tarnished.

Nobody really wants this I suppose.

I wonder, when I finally get to step up to medical officer level, how would my life actually be? Will I ever be like those I mentioned before?

Time will tell.

1. Housemen today are pampered
CONGRATULATIONS on your expose on the houseman sham. I think it is high time this issue be brought to the attention of the authorities concerned.

2. Check the slide before it goes out of control
I REFER to the report “Houseman glut” (The Star, Nov 27) about too many new doctors and too few hospitals to train them, and that these housemen even have time for a movie during work.

Perfect, huh?

Why are we getting the blame all the time?

The hierarchy goes from Medical Students-House Officers-Medical Officers-Specialist.

I am a house officer, of course.

When I started the job, there were only 4 of us in that busy medical ward. One day, we had more than 15 discharge summaries to be done, let alone mountains of other jobs, and my senior MO was sitting next to us reading Harian Metro. Better still, he was laughing looking at gossips and rumours.

On normal days, they can hardly be seen in the wards.

When these MOs are not on rosters for on call, they go home in the afternoon.

Once, a referral had to be made to a Chest Physician. It was 4.30 pm and the file was placed nicely and neatly right in front of our eyes. This referral was yet to be made, therefore I thought, let me just pick up the phone and make the call. This specialist nicely reminded me that this is not my job.

The next day, I was scolded by my respective specialist for making the call. Heck, I was scolded for doing the right thing. This group of so called medical officers was not given a word as a warning at all.

Believe me, I have just deleted what I wrote below 5 minutes earlier. I decided to cool it down first.

Don't ever trigger this bomb to explode please.

Knowing the custom very well, I know I will be bombarded with this question heavily on her wedding day.

The question on who my future partner is, I guess it is not a secret anymore.

I rarely crack under pressure, but I hate this unwanted feeling that people are meddling with your personal issues all the time.

Regardless of what my thoughts are, I hope I will get to see a couple of old friends during the wedding.

I know it has been ages since my last entry..

It has not been easy for me either. Towards the end of my paediatrics posting, I had to survive frequent on calls in a short space of time. Then next came the Orthopaedics posting with only 1 day off in between.

I have completed my tagging period in Ortho, and therefore a new life has begun. It is imperative for everyone to know that this is the last hurdle before I jump to the next step of my career.

It has been a long journey. It is true what my seniors had told me. If you think medical student days are tough, life as a real doctor is even worse.

Learning is a lifelong process. You never stop, whether intentionally or not.

By learning, we learn not to repeat the previous mistakes. We learn how to be wise. Be determined.

How much have we matured in our 20-ish years of life?

It would be good really if (y)our today is better than yesterday. That is not the case for the majority, am I right?

In some, we have gone from bad to worse.

A friend had quoted this 'tak senang nak jadi senang, tak susah nak jadi susah'. Easier said than done you say? Zoom in on the quote again.

I wish to become a better person in the future.

On another subject, Kulim has slowly progressed and managed to live up to the expectation of the name Kulim Hi Tech. Now they have McDonalds here.

I wonder, how many are still sticking to 'Kempen Boikot Israel'? I bet the many of you can't even remember when was the last time we ever spoke of this issue? I can't be more right now, can I?

It's a rare occasion that I get to spend some free time specifically for me.

Thanks to whoever that made this change to the roster. It's a breather.

At the moment, life is going well for me. Deepavali is around the corner, therefore it's my turn to cover for these people. They did their part during raya, and to uplift the spirit of 1 Malaysia, I am now willing to do my part now.

In less than a week after that, Raya Haji will come.

I hope I'll be able to come back home.

Somehow, I miss my family terribly. I miss the feeling that you 'feel at home'.

I have only 2 more on calls in Paediatrics. God willing, I will still be in Kulim next year. Fingers crossed on my MO posting. I hope it's a medical based.

I survived another night with 2 hours of sleep. My goodness, there was no stop in admissions.

I feel burnt out.

I have approximately 3 more weeks in Paediatrics department. Several departments have been wooing me into joining their respective department.

1 specialist even mentioned 'I hope he's joining paeds'. At times, it feels good to be wanted, but the responsibility that I need to shoulder should I decide to join your team is too huge to bear.

I had only 2 hours of sleep last night.

With the amount of work that we, the malaysian doctors in government hospital have put in, we definitely deserve a bonus.

Tok Batin gets an increment of RM 800, for what? Taxes for ladies' stuff are waived. Worst is, RM 5 billion for a 100 storey building?

They have gone too far.

Honestly, you UMNO supporters especially, learn how to read more.

They say, once you have graduated from medical school, you now possess the license to kill. How far the truth is, it is subjective.

One thing for sure, we the doctors, like to enforce patients to take the prescribed medications. If they don't, they will be scolded, no second chance (doesn't happen to the majority though).

Having said that, the doctors can be a patient as well. Not only we are lazy to complete a 3 day course of antibiotics, we are more afraid to be pricked!

I feel very week, and was asked to start antibiotics by my boss. How inappropriate, but being a human, I need to get up to speed as soon as possible.

Academically speaking, this practice is not correct. Thousands of ringgit are spent in order to cure 1 upper respiratory tract infection with bacterial origin. The number needed to treat is so huge that if one knows how to utilise it well, the government will surely be able to add millions to their financial disposal.

I will write again.

Believe me, a week has gone past extremely fast for me. Last weekend I was in Singapore, and a brand new week is about to kick off in less than 26 hours.

Unlike others, this year itself has moved as constant slow as ever. Many of you will go 'October already?'. Time does fly, but fly does not mean fast.

I am now into the third month of my internship. Everything is 2 years and it will finish hopefully in March 2010.

The future looks a bit bright, at this stage. 4 out of 5 departments that I have completed have offered me a place as a Medical Officer. Academically I am not that good, perhaps it is my communication skills that have made me shine.

It was a hell of a night last night. It started pretty slowly. Everything was ideal till the clock turned 10 pm.

A 5 year old boy was admitted with the diagnosis of poor oral intake ? cause. The moment I saw him, not responsive to my call, I knew something is not right.

Long story short, he developed a convulsion shortly afterward.

Kulim, bearing the name of Hi Tech Park, does not have Paediactrics Intensive Care Unit. We had to support his breathing manually, and we had to keep that going from Kulim to Alor Star Hospital. The whole thing took 5 hours, and the constant pumping of adrenaline finally took its toll this morning.

It was very unusual for me to ask boss for a couple of hours off. I had too. I was not steady on my feet. We reached Kulim at 6 am. Again, from 10 pm till 6 am

Putting this aside, I felt happy that we managed to keep the boy alive. Though the mother was in tears, the effort that we put in was extraordinary.

I pray to Allah for his speedy recovery.

Sometimes, you don't need a thank you to keep you happy. Am I right?

It is 1 am at the moment and I am still fresh. It feels weird though, because I had only 5 hours of sleep during my on call, and yet I still can't fall asleep.

I forced myself to watch that City-Chelsea game. I proceeded to Liverpool-Sunderland next. Perhaps I got too worked up with the result that I am blogging at this point of time.

It's been ages since I last felt the joy of watching Liverpool games. It just feels not right now, where everything goes wrong and nothing goes right.

Patience is the key. Regroup and stick together through thick and thin. I believe if we keep on working hard, we will strive.

Funny enough I feel like cleaning my room now. Horribly messy I tell you. Looking at the clock, is this the right moment to do this?

Or should I just go back to bed.

I don't know. Time will tell.

As my father has tweeted, there is currently a gradual exodus of family members taking place at home. Syasya left for India a couple of days ago, followed by Ana.

Soon, Intan to proceed to her 2nd year of Medicine course in Egypt. Alwani to get married soon in December and Aimi will be back at Canada after the former's wedding.

So what is next for me?

The motivation to be back home has never waned.

Only that, the chance for all of us to be together again will be the earliest July 2011. InsyaAllah.

It's Syawal Day 8 now. I am back in Kulim already, 4 days ago.

I hope Raya has brought smiles to the many of you. I, despite the short holiday, really treasured the joy of getting together with the family. It goes without saying that the short long trip to Johor Bahru from Penang was tiring, but who cares?

The only sad part is I am not getting ang pau as much as my sisters' anymore. Funny isn't it, your mind is asking you to (please)be mature, but the childish part of you keeps on wanting this. This goes away, proportionately with time.

Honestly this is not the sad really. One of my sisters, Syasya is leaving for India. Intan will be back in Egypt in October. Irwan, my brother is suffering from jet lag in Canada. His wife is soon to follow in December. Alwani is getting married in December, and plans to be with her husband at Kota Damansara.

Yeah yeah, life goes on.

I suppose the next time we will be together under one roof again the earliest July 2011. God willing, of course.

Come January, only my parents will be at home, alone.

I will come home whenever I can, I promise.

I hope Allah will grant us more opportunities to meet again. We are thankful to Allah for blessing us with a fantastic family setup. I really can't ask for more.

For my sisters, good luck in your future undertaking. Study well, and always remember that your parents and family are behind you, supporting you always.

Your future is in your hands, nobody else can change that. Regardless of how many of your friends tell you that these exams are extremely difficult, remember that these exams are part and parcel of life. Nothing good comes easily.

I will write again in the future.

I'm not supposed to be here where I am now, home.

I am down with flu at the moment, and self nursing with nothing but rest. With a smile on my face, I am wondering about the differences between the lifestyle of ours and of course, the rest of the world.

What makes me smile, you might wonder.

When I was in New Zealand, occasionally I will fall sick with simple viral infection. Over there, they will not advise you to come to work. Why? There's a possibility you might infect/affect your colleagues with your symptoms.

Here, at times, people use this as a time to chill out at home. It is an excuse for you to be away from work. Not everybody does this, and not every Mat Saleh has good intention when they are down with fever, my point is the more you see the world,the more knowledge you will gain.

There is one University by the name of Auckland University of Technology. In their ads, this Prof always mentions 'the more you know, the more that you will know that you do not know'.

It's true, isn't it?

Therefore I'll write on the most relevant issue tonight.

The sermon on Friday reminded us that we have reached the second half of Ramadhan. The first half has gone, it is up to us to find the way to win the game, now that we are not far away from the end.

As for me, it was a 0-0 or a lose in the first 15 days. To win it, it needs a double of the amount of effort I have put in.

If it's a repeat of previous Ramadhan, well, I have nobody else but me to blame.

Ya Allah, grant me the strength to reap the benefit of your blessed Ramadhan.

I am currently in Kuala Lumpur, having the best holiday possible in months. After a few months of hard work, I have finally managed to get 10 hours of sleep under my belt. It's a great feeling I tell you.

Now I have 3 more days to spend here. How do I spend it?

Hmm, tomorrow I'll be at home giving support to my sisters' Ramadhan Bazaar. So, nearby ladies, come and get your hands on on our products, ranging from tudung to kuih raya. We won't feel bad even if you decide not to buy anything. We get to meet each other right and that is something as well.

There's nothing to lose when 2 friends meet together.

Sunday, on the other hand, is the day for lepaking and nothing else but football at night. Sadly Liverpool plays on Tuesday night and that means I am going to miss it.

I'll be back in Kulim on Monday night.

So how is everyone coping with Ramadhan so far? I hope things are going well for all of us.

This is the 2nd Ramadhan in Kulim. It is my 5th consecutive year celebrating it far away from home. Somehow the word 'celebrating' is not appropriate to the eyes of Malaysians.

The time has changed. When knowledge comes to you, or I suppose when you seek for the knowledge, you become a better person in telling what is the best for this or for that. Ramadhan is like a school, where you are trained to be a better person, if not the best. You celebrate when both when your son have started school and graduated successfully right?

Let us change the ancient way of thinking. Let us ask, why do we this and that. Have you ever asked yourself who started 'IMSAK' when there was no clock or watch existed during the time of Prophet Muhammad. Is this 'Imsak' originated from Quran/Hadith or invented by the Malays?

Start asking why, why and why.

Another example, who started the selawat for the 4 companions of Prophet, namely Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali? Did Rasulullah recite this in between Tarawih? Again, is this practise originated from Quran/Hadith or something invented by the Malays.

Stop saying the Ulamas are doing this and that.

Ask them to give proofs that there is an authentic(sahih) source of this practise.

Anyway, enough of mind provoking questions.

I came across these beautiful verses.

71. Hai orang-orang yang beriman, bersiap siagalah kamu, dan majulah (ke medan pertempuran) berkelompok-kelompok, atau majulah bersama-sama!

72. Dan sesungguhnya di antara kamu ada orang yang sangat berlambat-lambat (ke medan pertempuran)^[315]. Maka jika kamu ditimpa musibah ia berkata: "Sesungguhnya Tuhan telah menganugerahkan nikmat kepada saya karena saya tidak ikut berperang bersama mereka.

73. Dan sungguh jika kamu beroleh karunia (kemenangan) dari Allah, tentulah dia mengatakan seolah-oleh belum pernah ada hubungan kasih sayang antara kamu dengan dia: "Wahai kiranya saya ada bersama-sama mereka, tentu saya mendapat kemenangan yang besar (pula)."

74. Karena itu hendaklah orang-orang yang menukar kehidupan dunia dengan kehidupan akhirat^[316] berperang di jalan Allah. Barangsiapa yang berperang di jalan Allah, lalu gugur atau memperoleh kemenangan maka kelak akan Kami berikan kepadanya pahala yang besar.

Absolutely beautiful, aren't they?

Somehow my memories reminded me of my 3 year stint in New Zealand. I'm talking about Ramadhan particularly.

It was different. The Arabs had their own way. So did the Malays.

The Malays will forever be Malays.

I still enjoyed my stay there.

It does not surprise me anymore that Malaysians have started their raya preparations well before fasting month starts.

As you see, this is the same reason why Harian Metro remains one of the best selling newspapers now.

Malaysians do not enjoy being academic. They play down the beauty of Ramadhan, despite being yearly reminded of its values. To many, it's a month where we starve ourselves on solely food. Very mature I suppose.

The mosques are filled in in the first half of the holy month.

The religious authorities are ultra passive with Islam related issues in this country. Even more annoying, you are not allowed to criticise them. If they are sincere enough, many issues would have been wiped off ages ago.

They like to sit down on the luxurious seats and seem to think they have done a good job in giving lectures in between Isyak and Maghrib to a crowd of less than 20 usually.

Even in states like PAS-led Kedah and Kelantan, nobody even knows the names of their Mufti. Let alone what they have contributed to the development of Islam! Selangor pun sama kot...

We need a very charismatic leader to take us forward. We have had enough of these passive, ultra conservative authorities. Tomorrow we will still hear 'We must go back to the basics of Quran and Sunnah'.

Enough of rhetorics.
